What I loved about Sitges

Hello readers!

For the past few weeks I’ve been thinking a lot into the content of this blog, and in what sort of a direction I want it to go. A lifestyle and fitness blog that is a reflection of me, with a dash of travel, however with a busy schedule and work, I can´t always be here and there.

This past weekend I visited for my sisters birthday a beautiful picturesque village with only a 30-kilometer drive from Barcelona there is tiny town called Sitges. For the past few years I´ve been a frequent visitor of this lovely town, a vibrant destination for many tourists looking for an escape out of the city. We spent our two days wondering through it´s narrow streets surrounded by beautiful white houses with blue doors.

It is such a beautiful town! We went for a coffee and a cake between our stroll through the streets and stepping in and out of the shops. As a picturesque village art and culture is never a miss, bright streets, murals and glorious street music. We spent hours stumbling upon little shops around the town.

One thing I recommend about Sitges, is escape the crowded beaches in the Summer and visit during the months of September, October. Get lost in the little side streets and just let them see where they take you.

And as usual, you can´t forget about the Food. Sitges has a vibrant fishy feel about the town, however there is a lot more out there. From Burger bars such as Big Al´s American Kitchen where we had our first meal late Friday night when we arrived, serving real American Burgers, you can´t give them a miss if you visit Sitges. Big Al´s opened four years ago and I can´t believe I´d never been, this will definitely not happen again and will be visiting soon.

One of the best Nachos I have ever had! There were also 15 different crafts beers to choose from, from strong to light for all taste buds. If you want to visit an authentic American Restaurant, you must visit Alan and his team, wonderful staff, very helpful in deciding what to have. Location: Carrer de Francesc Gumà 21, Sitges · Barcelona

For our last meal in Sitges, we celebrated my sisters Birthday lunch along the promenade of “San Sebastian” beach in Sitges. During our stay in Sitges, the international fantastic film festival was taking place, so the usual quiet streets of Sitges were full of cinema fans making the most of their stay in the town.

So Restaurants were pretty busy, we decided to make a reservation at Ché Latin Grill Sitges to avoid the crowd. This restaurant is certainly one of the best I have tried on the Sitges seaside. From the terrace you have a stunning view over the beach and the sea. The staff are super-friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. Che offers steaks, burgers, salads, and international dishes.

Absolutely top quality place, and would highly recommend as well. Amazing at helping us decide on what steak was the best to have. Location: Carrer de Port Alegre, 39, 08870 Sitges, Barcelona

And that was my weekend in Sitges. Not to be missed if you are ever in the area. Squeeze it in, even if just for a couple of hours to wonder through it´s streets

Do you have little areas to escape to like this near you?
